Job Description

Following expansion with both new and existing customers at Avebury, multiple vacancies to join their team on full time and permanent contracts have become available.

Shifts are 40 hours per week to be worked 7.30am – 4.45pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am – 12.30pm Fridays.

What will you be doing?

Upholsterer: As an Upholsterer your duties will include the upholstery of headbaords and divan beds to a high standard using a staple gun and other hand tools. Previous upholstery experience required.

Frame Maker: As a Frame Maker your role will include cutting wood and assembling frames to a high level of accuracy. Previous woodworking experience required.

Cushion Filler: As a Cushion Filler your role will include filling cushions and packing completed sofa beds to a deadline. Full training will be given.

Sewing Machinist: As a Sewing Machinist your duties will include using an industrial sewing machine to sew cushions, bodies and divans. Previous sewing experience required.

Fabric Cutter: As a Fabric Cutter your role will include using large scissors to accurately cut covers for sofa beds, A-frames and divans. Previous cutting experience required.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for people who are self-motivated, excellent eye for detail and accuracy and be able to follow a work schedule. You must be able to cope with the physical demands of the job, have a good attitude towards work and work well as part of a team. Previous experience of working in upholstery is essential.

Assistant Accountant

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant, reporting to the Finance Director, to provide accounting support for Avebury to assist with the preparation of management accounts to include a hand on approach to both Sales and purchase ledgers, and oversee the smooth running of a small finance facility

Qualification: To be considered for the role you should be at least part qualified, or be able to provide evidence that you have extensive practical experience from working in a similar environment. The Company may be willing to support the right candidate in an AAT qualification through evening study.

 

Main duties

  • Overseeing the smooth running of the accounts department (sales and purchase ledger, cash book and payroll).
  • Taking control and process purchase ledger transactions.
  • Manage a part time assistant with the sales ledger
  • Cash book maintenance.
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Monthly control account reconciliations
  • General accounting tasks
  • Assisting with preparation of management accounts.
  • Other one-off finance orientated projects, when the need arises.

Production Operative

Job Description

Following expansion with both new and existing customers, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Production Operative to join the team at Avebury.

Please note that the company does not currently hold a sponsorship license.

Please no agencies.

What will you be doing?

The role involves:

  • Operating foam cutting machinery
  • Accurately cutting foam to the required specifications
  • Transporting foam blocks around the factory using a fork lift truck

All vacancies are full time and permanent working Monday – Thursday 10.45am – 7pm and Friday 9am – 4pm. No weekends apart from overtime at enhanced rates of pay.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for people who are self-motivated, punctual and able to work under pressure. You must be able to cope with the physical demands of the job, have a good attitude towards work and be able to adopt a flexible approach to daily tasks. Previous experience working in a factory environment preferred, but full training will be given to the right candidate. Counter balance FLT license essential.
